Card for a baseball fan who died.

Posted by morty mittenthal on 10th Aug 2025

My friend Vince was a huge baseball fan who recently died at 81. I din't want to send a typical sympathy card to his surviving family, but something with more meaning to his life. The lone batter standing at the plate with no other players or fans in site in the soft sepia tone was perfect. My last line in the note I wrote was: "And, surely, there's no joy in Mudville."
